IFEN and WORK Microwave Present GNSS Compass / BeiDou Support at CSNC 2012

MUNICH, Germany - April 30, 2012 - The NavX-NCS comes in two versions, Professional and Essential. Professional is optimized for research and development of GNSS safety and professional applications, while Essential is designed for system integration and production testing of mass market applications - including automotive sat-nav, mobile phone apps, chip-sets, and handheld personal navigation devices. The GNSS simulators feature up to nine L-band frequencies and 108 channels, offering users more than twice the number of channels when compared to competing products.

The recent NCS Control Center software release V1.7.0 delivered a number of usability and control enhancements. For example, the GNSS simulators now feature vehicle motion models that simulate the motion behavior of any type of vehicle, such as an airplane, car, ship, or pedestrian user. Other core features include a CAN-Bus interface for automotive applications, which emulates a wheels sensor data in real time according to the motion behavior of the vehicle, providing vehicles with the most accurate simulated wheel information available today. Additional multipath models, such as point reflector, statistical channel model, and import of multipath data by file help users more precisely simulate environmental effects. The NavX-NCS also features a remote control interface that includes new commands to control and steer the simulator without using the GUI. This means that the GNSS simulators can be integrated with an existing automatic test system, thus providing users with the capability to build commands into existing test systems.

In addition to the recent software updates, the Professional version includes a number of important hardware advancements. Multiple RF outputs allow users to simulate two, three, or four multi-GNSS sources from a single unit. Users can either start with 4 RF outputs, or begin with just 2 or 3, upgrading at a later stage as required. Both versions of NavX-NCS simulate Doppler shift at a rate greater than 15 MHz, allowing for unparalleled smooth signal simulation, even when simulating high-dynamic trajectories. By utilizing highly accurate, on-the-fly correction data in the RTCM format, users can perform Real-Time Kinematic (RTK) testing, which minimizes the effects of atmospheric and satellite errors on position determination by applying correction data to each GNSS received.

The NavX-NCS platform includes a 2-year maintenance contract, the broadest range of frequencies and satellite navigation systems per chassis, as well as the flexibility for users to easily install software updates when they become available - making it the most cost-effective multi-GNSS available today.
