Vizrt introduces support for DigitalGlobe s Basemap +Vivid Satellite imagery layer

Large parts of the world are now available in high-resolution color-balanced imagery that integrates directly into Viz World real-time 3D maps.

At the NAB show, Vizrt (stand SL2417), the leading provider of production tools for the digital media industry, is introducing a new integration of satellite imagery products from DigitalGlobe, the global leader in earth imagery and information about our changing planet. The introduction of the new DigitalGlobe Basemap Vivid layer provides users of the Viz World real-time 3D mapping system with consistent color-balanced satellite imagery for a large part of the world.

As part of the Viz World 16 update, Basemap Vivid features beautiful, consistent imagery orthomosaics for entire countries with consistent color-balancing across all zoom levels. Subscriptions can be upgraded to include the new Vivid layer, allowing them to have a consistent coloring of satellite imagery.

Basemap Vivid utilizes DigitalGlobes vast archive to provide satellite imagery of the highest quality and consistency in coloring, using proprietary image processing techniques to maximize contrast, sharpness, and clarity while maintaining uniformity of colors across zoom levels. The new integration allows broadcasters to display beautiful maps with the highest quality of satellite imagery without any changes in colors between tiles and zoom levels.

Basemap Vivid is available as an additional option to any customer subscribing to DigitalGlobe service. The new data layer already includes coverage for a large part of the world and is periodically updated and expanded to provide the best-looking imagery worldwide.
