
hispasat uhd emits a satellite for the first time at a speed below 20 mbps En el marco de IBC 2013, el operador satelital presenta el canal Hispasat 4K, dedicado en exclusiva a la emisi n en UHD, que la compa a pone a disposici n de la industria para impulsar el desarrollo de esta nueva tecnolog a.
Hispasat est llevando a cabo en IBC una demostraci n v a sat lite de televisi n en Ultra Alta Definici n (UHDTV, por sus siglas en ingl s).
Esta demostraci n v a sat lite es la primera transmisi n 4K de la tecnolog a HEVC (High Efficiency Video Coding) con una velocidad de informaci n inferior a 20 Mbps. El contenido, codificado en dicho sistema, se transmite bajo el est ndar DVB-S2 por medio del sat lite Hispasat 1E en su cobertura europea. Para el desarrollo de esta soluci n y la realizaci n de la demostraci n, el operador satelital ha contado con la colaboraci n de Abertis Telecom, LG, Magic Box, Thomson Video Networks y TVE.
La oferta de soluciones y servicios audiovisuales que Hispasat presentar en su stand se completa con los ltimos avances de la compa a en contribuci n y distribuci n de contenidos, cine digital, DSNG, despliegue de redes de televisi n digital terrestre y soluciones llave en mano para servicios DTH, entre otros.
Adem s, Hispasat presentar durante la feria su canal dedicado en exclusiva a la emisi n de contenidos en UHD, el Hispasat 4K. La compa a emitir v a sat lite y en abierto este canal, que pondr a disposici n de la industria para la difusi n de emisiones en esta calidad. Su objetivo es permitir la realizaci n de pruebas y fomentar la generaci n de contenidos en esta tecnolog a, con el fin de impulsar su desarrollo para poder ponerla al servicio de los espectadores lo antes posible. El primero de esos contenidos ser un documental de 50 minutos sobre el Museo del Prado, realizado por TVE y coproducido por Hispasat.
En el acto de presentaci n del nuevo canal se ha emitido en primicia un resumen de este documental, que se estrenar pr ximamente en el Festival de Cine de San Sebasti n. El evento ha contado con la participaci n de Xavier Red n, product manager de Abertis Telecom; Eric Gallier, vicepresidente de Marketing de Thomson, y Pere Vila, director de Planificaci n e Innovaci n Tecnol gica de RTVE. Estas compa as, junto con LG, son los partners de HISPASAT en este proyecto.
Ignacio Sanchis, director de Negocio de Hispasat, ha presentado el canal, destacando la precisi n y la fidelidad con que la tecnolog a UHD transmite las obras de arte del museo, y el rigor con que reproduce los vol menes, las texturas y los colores de las pinturas que alberga. Esta nitidez y precisi n resultan esenciales para transmitir al espectador una visi n de estas obras ajustada a la realidad, y son tambi n importantes a la hora de visualizar la naturaleza, la arquitectura o los espect culos deportivos .
Sanchis ha se alado que el sat lite se configura como la plataforma id nea para el desarrollo de los servicios en UHD debido a su cobertura universal, elevada capacidad y gran ancho de banda, imprescindible para transmitir gran cantidad de informaci n en alta calidad , y ha recordado que HISPASAT ha sido pionera en la transmisi n de contenidos en UHD v a sat lite, habiendo realizado emisiones en calidad 4K en Brasil, Espa a y varios pa ses europeos.

El nuevo canal se transmite en MPEG-4 a una velocidad de 35 Mbps, as como, de forma experimental, en el nuevo formato HEVC (High Efficiency Video Coding) a una velocidad de 18 Mbps, lo que lo convierte en el sistema de transmisi n v a sat lite m s eficiente del mundo en este momento. Los contenidos, codificados en dichos formatos, se transmiten bajo el est ndar DVB-S2 por medio del sat lite Hispasat 1E en su cobertura europea. Est previsto emitir tambi n en Norteam rica y Latinoam rica dentro de unos meses.
