U.S. Navy Selects HP PCs for Overseas NetworkNot-to-exceed $40 million delivery order issued under Army Chess Multiple Award Contract to support overseas military bases

PALO ALTO, Calif. - HP today announced that HP PCs were chosen as part of the U.S. Navy's selection of Integration Technologies Group, Inc. (ITG) for the refresh of OCONUS Navy Enterprise Network (ONE-Net), the Navy's enterprise network of bases outside the continental United States.

The ONE-Net delivery order includes a two-year base period and two-year option period, and isn't to exceed $40 million. As part of the delivery order, HP desktop PCs, displays, notebooks and tablets will replace the current systems at domestic and international bases. ONE-Net provides technical capabilities, such as secure network access, for deployed and support forces at 14 overseas fleet bases and stations in the Far East, the Middle East and Europe.

This agreement allows Navy personnel to access critical information with seamless connectivity to the global information grid.

To secure this opportunity, HP worked with ITG to offer services and support, and collaborated with GovConnection for indirect product fulfillment.

Products that will be distributed as part of the contract include HP EliteBook notebook PCs, HP Elite tablet PCs and HP Compaq Elite desktop PCs. HP Elite PCs are rigorously tested to help ensure reliability. During the HP Total Test Process, HP PCs experience 115,000 hours of performance trials. In addition, the HP EliteBook PCs and HP Elite tablets pass the rigorous MIL-STD 810G testing for vibration, dust, shock, altitude, high temperature, low temperature, temperature shock, humidity and drops.(1).

The decision was based on cost, past performance and the vendor's ideas for technical performance.

The OCONUS Navy Enterprise Network (ONE-Net) is a Department of the Navy initiative to deliver comprehensive, end-to-end information and telecommunication services to OCONUS Navy shore commands by using a common computing environment for both the Non-secure IP Router Network (NIPRNet) and Secure IP Router Network (SIPRNet).
