Spacecom Enters Maritime Sector with On-The-Move Advanced Communication Services Deal 12.05.2022 AMOS-17 Digital Satellite to Provide Connectivity Services over Ka-band in Multi-Million Dollar Win
Tel Aviv, May 12, 2022: Spacecom (Tel Aviv Stock Exchange: SCC), the satellite services provider and owner-operator of the AMOS satellite fleet, has entered the maritime satellite connectivity market with its first deal. This contract is important for the company's strategic outlook as it moves forward towards offering more on-the-move services. AMOS-17's Ka-band will provide on-the-move connectivity for a Super Yacht communication service provider.
As part of its business strategy, Spacecom has been improving its capabilities to provide connectivity services to serve the maritime sphere, an important element in the global satellite communications market. Recently the company completed a number of actions including moving one of AMOS-17's Ku-band transponders to provide coverage of the Indian Ocean, including the regions surrounding the Seychelle and Maldives Islands.
Spacecom's decision to broaden the diversity of services into maritime connectivity is another step in evolving the company's overall strategic direction by supplying a variety of solutions to new, unique sectors.
Oren Tepper, Spacecom's Senior SVP Maritime, reported, Choosing Spacecom's solution is a testament to the company and AMOS-17's advanced capabilities. This deal strengthens the continuing implementation of our strategy targeting the maritime sector as we move forward to become a leading and important supplier of satellite-based land and maritime connectivity services. Tepper added We will be showcasing our maritime solutions at CABSAT Booth #C8-30 and look forward to meeting those requiring top of the line satellite connectivity services.
