New Managing Director for Europe to Strengthen Presence in Region; Increase Availability of Award-Winning Masstech for News and Popular Topaz Media Management Solutions
TORONTO, Canada-August 28, 2013-Masstech Group, the provider of solutions that enable media companies to save, share and transform content into valuable assets, today strengthened its commitment to meeting the needs of European news operations and media producers. Responding to demand for its multiple award-winning Masstech for News and innovative Topaz media management solutions, Masstech initiated its campaign with the promotion of Mike Provancha to the post of Managing Director, Europe. He is the first to hold the new role, which he assumes immediately in order to oversee the company's presence at the upcoming IBC 2013 exhibition in Amsterdam, 13-17 September 2013, Stand 6.A10.
Since its launch at NAB 2013, Masstech for News has become our fastest growing solution, said Masstech CEO Joe French. The need to get the most value from one's content resources is a requirement that transcends borders and differences in style. Mike Provancha has been instrumental to helping groups and individual stations in North America to leverage Masstech solutions to retain and reuse the content they work hard to create, and his experience will help our team and our growing network of dealers to effectively guide European media companies.
Masstech for News allows journalists to automatically archive, access, share and use a company's content directly from within newsroom computer systems including Avid iNEWS and Associated Press ENPS. Integration within familiar NRCS interfaces gives journalists direct access to video and text content stored locally, remotely, in the Cloud, or produced by third party wire agencies. Exclusive Video follows text design keeps video, text and metadata connected, properly formatted and easily portable throughout its production lifecycle. At NAB 2013, these innovations won Masstech for News the 2013 IABM NAB Game Changer Award, 2013 TV Technology STAR Award, and 2013 Broadcast Engineering Pick Hit Award. Masstech Topaz takes that core functionality and extends it across a media company's entire operation to enable seamless, file-based workflows for creative, promotions, master control and other applications.

Mike Provancha has over 35 years' industry experience as an award-winning salesman and sales manager with companies like Ampex, Grass Valley, Abekas and Harris. He has been with Masstech for six years and was most recently Director of Sales for North America, where he built a sales and dealer organization that was responsible for continuous growth including Masstech's strongest sales year in 2013. Mike has strong family ties to Europe and previously lived in Germany. In his new role he will be responsible for all Masstech sales operations in Europe and Canada.
