Durham Bulls to Host Pride Night June 5

Team Partners with Local Organizations to Celebrate Areas Inclusivity

The Durham Bulls will hold the teams first Pride Night on Wednesday, June 5 at 7:05 p.m. The event will be held in partnership with Equality NC, the LGBTQ Center of Durham and the Durham Police Department, with each organization receiving in-game recognition.

The evenings contest will feature a ceremonial first pitch thrown by City Council Member Vernetta Alston, and a Bulls Pride flag will be raised in centerfield prior to the game by an Equality NC representative. Additionally, Wool E. Bull will feature a Bulls Pride flag on the field prior to first pitch, and the flag will be auctioned off with proceeds benefiting the LGBTQ Center of Durham.

Representatives from Equality NC, the LGBTQ Center of Durham and the Durham Police Departments Safe Place initiative will also be in attendance throughout the game to spread their mission to fans who would like to receive more information.

Durham Bulls games are about spending time with family, friends, coworkers and fellow Triangle residents, Durham Bulls Vice President Mike Birling said. Enjoying a baseball game in a relaxed, safe environment with a group of people is a universal notion, and a notion that doesnt know sexual orientation, gender, race or economic status. We look forward to celebrating that on June 5.

A special Pride Night ticket will be sold for the game, offering fans a ticket to the contest and a Bulls Pride pennant for the first 1,000 tickets purchased. The ticket package can be purchased here, and general tickets to the contest can be purchased here.

The Bulls return to the DBAP for a six-game homestand on Tuesday, May 14 at 7:05 p.m. Single-game tickets and group outings are available now at durhambulls.com, or by calling the Mako Medical Ticket Office at 919.956.BULL.
