Schneider Electric named Net Zero Champion at Franco-British Business Awards London, UK

Recognising Schneider Electric for setting bold targets and timelines for sustainability

Net Zero embedded in the company culture and business model

Schneider Electric, the leader in the digital transformation of energy management and automation, has been crowned Net Zero Champion 2021 by the French Chamber of Great Britain. Part of the Franco-British Business Awards, the title recognises Schneider Electric as an organisation going above and beyond to champion Net-Zero.

For the past 21 years, the Franco-British Business Awards have showcased the outstanding contributions of French and British companies on both sides of the Channel, nurturing Franco-British relations and honouring organisations that support their people and communities and work to tackle the climate crisis.

Fabienne Viala, President of the French Chamber and Chairman of Bouygues UK, said: It feels more important than ever for us to celebrate the good business - as well as culture, ties and values - that exist between both countries. We are proud that the Franco-British Business Awards play a key part in this by recognising the Franco-British organisations that stand out for their excellence.

In selecting this year's Net Zero Champion, the French Chamber of Great Britain was looking for an organisation to demonstrate a tangible, significant and verifiable transformation plan to achieve Net-Zero. Schneider Electric impressed the jury, which included the Chair of the Climate Change Committee, Lord Deben, with the scope of its initiatives and its work to reduce carbon emissions throughout its supply chain.

Kelly Becker, President UK & Ireland, Schneider Electric, said: This award celebrates the ambition, tenacity and innovation of our people. In a year of challenges and uncertainty, they went above and beyond to reach the sustainability and carbon reduction goals that have been at the cornerstone of our business for the past 15 years. It is also further validation of our efforts to measure the positive impact of our actions, whether in our own operations or for our clients and wider communities.

Sustainabilty and accelerated decarbonisation are embedded in Schneider Electric's company culture and business model, winning many awards for its work to help accelerate the world's transition to net zero. In addition to success at the Franco-British Business awards, the company was named the World's Most Sustainable Corporation in 2021 by Corporate Knights Global 100 index and has received accolades for its 'Outstanding Contribution to Sustainability and Efficiency' at The DCS Awards 2021 and as Sustainable Infrastructure Vendor of the Year' at the CRN Tech Impact Awards.
