Cloud file sharing tomorrow at the British Academy of Film and Television Arts

For the past five years, IT Broadcast Workflow (ITBW) has offered a daylong case study program highlighting innovations in file-based operations by European broadcasting companies. With the rate of cloud-based software adoption in media ever increasing, tomorrow's sixth annual summit promises to be the most intriguing yet. Throughout the day, organizations will share their complex technical and business challenges, the solutions they've found, and how they've worked with their technology partners to achieve success. Of course, wine will be served in the evening - we'd expect nothing less from an event at the esteemed British Academy of Film and Television Arts in London.

Signiant is honored to be a sponsor this year, and we are excited to hear one presenter in particular: Mark Keller from Hogarth Worldwide will be speaking on The Art of Digital Asset Management . Hogarth is a marketing implementation agency that we've worked with for several years, watching them grow at an astronomical rate while still delivering some of the most impressive advertising we've seen. From just a few co-founders only six years ago, they've grown to over 1,000 employees. And they have been file-based from the start.

Perhaps because they entered the race at the height of the digital media transformation, Hogarth has developed one of the most advanced cloud-based Digital Asset Management (DAM) systems to date. Hogarth uses Signiant technology within their DAM system called ZONZA to transfer content between their various sites around the world. And they recently deployed Signiant Media Shuttle as the tool of choice for delivering media content outside ZONZA.

At ITBW, Keller's case study will demonstrate the way Digital Asset Management has evolved as a result of changing media consumption trends that have increased global demand in regard to asset size, asset sharing, and asset distribution. Keller will assess how production and technology methods have begun to form far closer relationships in the realms of business technology and infrastructure in order to meet these changing demands. Using ZONZA as an example, he will investigate the implementation of a cloud-based DAM system and the notion that the future of DAM will lie in modern Intrinsic systems as opposed to traditional Extrinsic models.

As an integral aspect of Hogarth's DAM system, we are looking forward to hearing Keller tell his story. But that's only one of many case studies and keynotes that will focus on enhancing workflow efficiency and reducing operational costs in broadcasting production and post-production.
