December 2, 2015 (Dubai, United Arab Emirates): MetLife - one of the regions leading insurance companies and a global provider of insurance, annuities and employee benefit programs -was the winner of the Life Insurance Company of the Year Award, for the second consecutive year, at the 2015 Middle East Insurance Industry Awards (MIIA), organized by Middle East Insurance Review.
The awards, which were established in 2014 to recognize excellence within the regional industry, attracted entries from across the region, and were presented at a ceremony held on November 17th, in Dubai.
Julio Garcia-Villalon, Regional Head, Middle East & Africa Region, MetLife, who received the award at the gala event said: We are honored to receive this prestigious award for the second consecutive year and commend the organizers for this initiative, which helps to build the profile of the regional industry and showcase our role. On behalf of MetLife, I would like to dedicate this award to all our employees, customers, field force and business partners across the region.
Headquartered at Dubai International Financial Centre (DIFC), MetLifes regional Middle East & Africa hub provides strategic support to its operations in 11 territories. MetLife was the first life insurance company present in many Middle East countries, and has been serving its customers in this region for more than 60 years.

MetLife in the Middle East
MetLife opened its first branch in Lebanon in 1953, followed by Saudi Arabia and Kuwait in 1954, Jordan in 1958, Bahrain in 1960, UAE and Qatar in 1962, Oman in 1971, Turkey in 1988 and Egypt in 1997. MetLife was the first insurance company to operate in many of the Middle East countries, offering marketing leading products and service innovations.
