Turn of the Tide Is Back: The Second Season Arrives on Netflix October 17

Netflix announced today the premiere date, first teaser and first images of the second season of the wildly popular Portuguese series Turn of the Tide. The second season will be hitting screens globally on the streaming service on October 17, with a confirmed third season thats already filmed and will also be released globally on Netflix.
In this new season, Eduardo (Jos Condessa), three months after his departure, returns to find a completely different reality in Rabo de Peixe. The drugs have changed hands, and the groups friendship is tested by new and unexpected enemies. A new business opportunity arises: is it really just one more time?
The main cast is back for fresh and unforeseen adventures: Jos Condessa, Helena Caldeira, Rodrigo Tom s, and Andr Leit o, while renowned Portuguese actors P p Rapazote, Maria Jo o Bastos, Salvador Martinha, Afonso Pimentel, and Kelly Bailey also make a comeback to enrich the series universe. Additionally, this season introduces a wave of supporting characters played by acclaimed actors Jos Raposo, Caio Blat, and Ricardo Pereira - and marking a standout addition to the cast, Brazilian star Paolla Oliveira joins the story with a powerful and surprising role.
Produced by Ukbar Filmes and loosely inspired by real events, the series returns to the Azores with new chapters of friendship, ambition, and danger. The writing and creative direction remain in the hands of Augusto Fraga, who also directs alongside Jo o Maia in this second season. Returning to the Azores, the story continues to focus on the group's unique friendship. Even with the growth of the drug business, they remain true to themselves and their community, facing unpredictable dangers with the same fun, emotional, and close-knit spirit that has characterized their group since childhood.
It's a story about friendship in the middle of a storm. We pushed everything a little further this season - visually, emotionally, and narratively - while staying true to the pulse that made people connect with Eduardo and his incredible group of friends. It's wilder, more personal, and maybe even more raw. Because in the end, when the tide turns, all that matters is who you hold on to , says Augusto Fraga, showrunner of Turn of the Tide.
About Ukbar Filmes
Ukbar Filmes is an independent production company, founded in 2009 by Pandora da Cunha Telles and Pablo Iraola. Since then, the company has made a mark with the production of over 80 films and series, solidifying its position in both the national and international film and audiovisual landscape.

In recent years, the producer steps firmly into series productions, namely Private Millions, 24 Land and Good crooks' chronicle which have garnered unprecedented audiences in national fiction on RTP. The first luso-spanish series with Amazon Prime Video, Silent Cargo (Seasons 1 & 3), also features Ukbar's catalogue along with Point Nemo another title developed with Prime Video. Turn of the Tide produced with Netflix, has become a global success, reaching the top 10 in over 30 countries, with Season 2 set to premiere in 2025 and Season 3 already filmed and awaiting announcement. The series Broken Spies (Berlinale Series Market Select 2025) is also another major release in 2025.
In the near future, Ukbar Filmes continues to push boundaries with new stories and exciting productions such as the series The Marquise and the co-productions School without borders (Brazil) and Millenial Mal (Spain).
