#DreamReal: the Snow Edition

Winter is here, and it has brought some pretty epic conditions with it. But imagine what it's like to only experience that whimsical white stuff through a screen-to have never bombed down a perfect groomer or wage a war with the perfectly timed snowball attack. This is a fate that no kid should have to endure, no matter where they live.

So when GoPro family member Patrick Marahay told us that he and his family had never seen snow, we knew we had to meet this family and make their dream come true. Being from the Philippines and now residing in the deserts of Mumba, Patrick says it's always been their dream.

We have thought of how does it feel if we can get to experience sparkling white snow instead of the sandy desert mountains? It will be a magical moment for us to see everything covered with snow.

As if this wasn't enough alone, Patrick's initial #DreamReal submission really caught our attention. Along with his wife and three kids, Julianna (13), Jacob (8) and Joaquinne (3), they compiled three years of family fun and travel footage into one epic video.

Wherever we go, whatever we do, GoPro camera is a must, he explains. It is like part of our body and clothing-without it, it feels like something is missing. All activities, whether they extreme or just plain strolling, GoPro always does its magic and captures all the fun and excitement on everything we do.

Excitement is an understatement. We knew no matter what winter wonderland they ended up in, the Marahay family were going to make the best of it. So we went big and sent them to the French Alps with an itinerary filled with ski lessons, tubing, snow karting, dog sledding and even a helicopter tour of Mont Blanc. But nothing compared to the first impressions.

We embraced the chill weather and eager to go outside and make a snow angel yet the coldness stung like a scorpion! When [the kids] saw snow for the first time it gave them hope that Santa is real.

And everyone had their own initial reaction. Patrick's wife Charlene was thrilled, Julianna was astonished, Jacob felt overwhelmed, and the youngest, Joaquinne was simply excited.
