SES achieved a historic milestone to launch SES-10 aboard a rocket in Space-X previously used Primer sat lite de SES totalmente dedicado a la prestaci n de servicios para Am rica Latina, est ubicado en la posici n orbital 67 grados oeste.
El sat lite SES-10 ha sido puesto en rbita con xito a bordo del cohete Falcon 9 de SpaceX, el cual ya hab a sido lanzado previamente, a las 18:27 hora local partiendo del Centro Espacial Kennedy de la NASA, Florida. El SES-10 es el primer sat lite comercial geoestacionario lanzado en un cohete cuya primera etapa fue recuperada de una misi n previa.
Con una carga til de 55 transpondedores (equivalentes de 36 MHz) de banda Ku, de los cuales 27 son incrementales en la posici n orbital de 67 grados Oeste, es el primer sat lite de SES totalmente dedicado a la prestaci n de servicios para Am rica Latina. Los haces flexibles de alta potencia del sat lite SES-10 aumentar n la capacidad de SES en la regi n, al suministrar conectividad directa a los hogares, empresas y servicios de conectividad m vil.
El SES-10 va a sustituir la capacidad suministrada actualmente por otros sat lites de SES a 67 grados oeste, adem s de ampliar la capacidad para M xico, Am rica Central, Am rica del Sur y El Caribe.
Seg n el acuerdo con los pa ses miembros de la Comunidad Andina (Bolivia, Colombia, Ecuador y Per ), el sat lite operar como el Sim n Bol var 2 de la Comunidad Andina, suministrando capacidad satelital para cada pa s andino. El proyecto del sat lite Andino proviene de intereses de los Estados-Miembros con el prop sito de tener una red de sat lite com n aprovechando as los recursos Andinos de espectro de la posici n orbital de 67 grados oeste.
Martin Halliwel, director de tecnolog a de SES, reconoce que el xito en el lanzamiento de SES-10 en la primera misi n de SpaceX con un cohete que haya lanzado previamente en otra misi n, abre una nueva era en los vuelos espaciales. Nos enorgullecemos de la asociaci n con SpaceX en esta jornada de innovaci n en el uso de cohetes reutilizables, que aumentar n laeficiencia del acceso al espacio, en t rminos de costos y gesti n de misiones. La capacidad adicional ofrecida por el sat lite SES-10 es ideal para el suministro de servicios de televisi n adicionales, con mejor calidad de imagen, adem s deservicios de conectividad de banda ancha m s r pidos ambos ser n disfrutados por millones de personas en Am rica Latina y El Caribe .

El sat lite SES-10 fue construido por Airbus Defence & Space basado en la plataforma Eurostar E3000.Utilizar un sistema de propulsi n el ctrica por plasma en las maniobras en rbita, y un sistema qu mico para la primera puesta en rbita y algunas maniobras en rbita.
