ITV2 commissions brand new scripted comedy from Shiny Button

ITV2 has commissioned Action Team, a brand new 6 x 30 comedy from the creative talent behind award winning hit series Murder In Successville.

Written by Tom Davis and James De Frond, this brand new scripted comedy will star Tom Davis (Plebs, The Keith Lemon Show, Murder In Successville), Jim Howick (Horrible Histories, Broadchurch), Kayode Ewumi (Are You Being Served, #HoodDocumentary) and Laura Checkley (Cradle to Grave, Bridget Jones's Baby).

Action Team is a spoof spy action-thriller series following the exploits of a top-secret team of special agents working for the British government and charged with saving the world.

Every year I sit there as the bookies predict who they think will play the next James Bond and I'm always left off the list, so I've decided to do something about it. says Tom Davis.

Saskia Schuster, ITV's Comedy Commissioner says; Think The Naked Gun meets The Bourne Identity in this high octane, big scale comedy featuring a dysfunctional group of spies. Fast paced, high concept and crammed with silly jokes.
