Miramax Names Zanne Devine Executive Vice President, Production And Development

Global film and television studio Miramax today announced that veteran producer and industry executive Zanne Devine has been named Executive Vice President, Production and Development of Miramax, effective immediately.

Reporting to Miramax Chairman, Thomas J. Barrack, Jr., and Miramax CEO, Steve Schoch, Devine will lead content acquisition, production and development for Miramax, overseeing both film and television.

For the last three years, Devine has been working with Miramax as a producer and strategic advisor on production and development opportunities related to the company's extensive film library. Currently, Devine is shepherding a number of high profile film and TV projects on behalf of Miramax, including Martin Scorsese's Gangs of New York TV series; Robert Rodriguezs From Dusk Till Dawn TV series, which is currently in production; and The Ninth Life of Louis Drax written by Max Minghella.

Additional TV series currently in development under Devine include Mimic from writer John Shiban and The Prophecy with writer and director Gregory Widen.

The volume of projects will grow measurably as Miramax recently entered into a multi-year, multi-title film, television and live stage co-production and co-distribution agreement with The Weinstein Company involving library-derived and original development projects covering some of the most iconic titles in the Miramax library. Devine will play a key role in bringing these projects to fruition.

Devine has produced a broad array of projects on behalf of major studios. Prior to working with Miramax, Devine executive produced HBO Films' Emmy-winning Cinema Verite (Diane Lane, Tim Robbins, James Gandolfini), and critically acclaimed box office success Easy A (Emma Stone, Stanley Tucci) for Sony/Screen Gems, which won the Critics' Choice Award for Best Comedy Movie in 2011.

As President of Production at Beacon Pictures, Devine executive produced Walt Disney/Touchstone Pictures' films The Guardian (Kevin Costner, Ashton Kutcher) and A Lot Like Love (Ashton Kutcher, Amanda Peet), Universal Home Entertainment's Bring it On: All or Nothing (Hayden Panettiere), and Scott Z. Burns' award-winning directorial debut, PU-239 (Paddy Considine, Radha Mitchell), for HBO Films.

Prior to joining Beacon, Devine served as President of The Kennedy/Marshall Company, Senior Vice President of PolyGram Filmed Entertainment, and Vice President of Production and Acquisitions at Universal Pictures.

In 2011, Devine Co-founded Pacific Northwest Pictures, an independent Canadian distribution company.
