Arguably the most anticipated superhero movie ever, Marvels Black Panther is hitting cinemas around the globe. We have the details as to when we can expect to see it in local cinemas. By Nic Andersen
Let's be real, Marvel's Black Panther is one of the most anticipated movies in years. Insiders expect it to break records and rule the box office. To top all of that off, the initial reviews have been great so far. It looks like Black Panther is going to match the hype. Here are all the local details for the Black Panther South African release date.

When does Black Panther release in South Africa?
Friday the 16th of February is the magical day here! You can check it out at Ster-Kinekor theatres as the Black Panther heroes come to life on screen in IMAX, D-BOX, Cinema Prestige, 3D and 2D at Ster-Kinekor cinemas nationwide. With so many ways to watch a movie these days, surely an action epic like this means a trip to the IMAX?

With Chadwick Boseman (T'Challa / Black Panther), Lupita Nyongo (Nakia) and Michael B. Jordan (Erik Killmonger Stevens) and many more leading the way, this film has a cast that few other movies can rival. Us South Africans have an extra special reason to watch this movie as it was announced that isiXhosa is the official language of Wakanda, the City in the film.
