Fujifilm help BMI Healthcare celebrate World Radiography Day

Fujifilm is a pioneer in diagnostic imaging and information systems for healthcare facilities, with a range of constantly evolving clinically proven products and technologies designed to assist medical professionals perform more efficiently and effectively. The company recently helped BMI Healthcare celebrate World Radiography Day by donating promotional items, including diaries and lanyards, for the hospital to hand out during the event.
World Radiography Day is celebrated on 8 November each year and marks the anniversary of the discovery of x-radiation by Wilhelm Roentgen in 1895. Radiographers worldwide use this anniversary to promote radiography as a career, as a key contribution to modern healthcare and as a chance to raise public awareness of diagnostic imaging and radiation therapy.
This year, BMI Healthcare celebrated by hosting a department open lunch and invited all staff, consultants and customers. The lunch was very well attended and included a buffet complimented by some skeleton jelly made by a radiographer from BMI, consisting of brain, hand and chest.
BMI Healthcare decided to have a fun theme with lots of amusing posters of x-ray images, along with balloons, decorations and skeletal memorabilia on display. The imaging staff dressed up in skeleton outfits and visited all departments with sweets and cakes for those who were unable to attend the lunch, and there was also a free raffle.
Commenting on the event, Ann Smart, Radiology Manager at BMI Healthcare said: The BMI team enjoyed the planning and involvement of this event, which was a lovely way to end the week for all who participated. We've had some great feedback from the hospital staff on how impressed they were with the event and how much they enjoyed themselves. Our efforts certainly raised awareness and our posters are still on display. We're pleased Fujifilm were able to get involved and help us celebrate the occasion and thank them for their contribution in making this such a successful event.
