Allen & Heath Qu-PAC: a sophisticated compact digital mixer It allows automatic mixing of microphones, remote control and from iPad 38 posts and 28 outputs.
Qu-PAC is synonymous with high-performance audio in a compact ultra digital mixer, designed for live music, events, and facilities. Qu-PAC, of Allen & Heathin just 4 rack units, it has 16 mono inputs (line and microphone) with preamplifiers of high quality, 3 stereo inputs and 12 outputs of mixing on the rear panel. In addition, up to 38 entries can be expanded / 28 outputs by connecting to remote racks AB168, AR84, and AR2412 of Allen & Heath, via Cat5 cabling.
Qu-PAC offers "total recall" of all settings and preamplifiers, as well as recording stereo or multitrack direct to USB (do not need a computer with a DAW application), as well as also playing from USB.
As regards the quality of audio, microphone and Qu-PAC line entries have AnaLOGIQ preamp, great transparency. Qu-Pac is also equipped with a full processing channel (parametric EQ, dynamics, etc.), powerful effects and also measuring RTA.
Notably, the intuitive user interface of Qu-CAP, with touch screen and 15 programmable keys, and that it can be customized for different applications, and even allows you to create user profiles with different levels of access to the various functions of the mixer. The idea is to offer total control system integrators or system administrators, while non-experts in audio equipment simplified menus.
Automatic mixing of microphones (AMM)
With the advent of version 1.8 of the firmware for Qu-PAC, also becomes AMM (Automatic Microphone Mixing); a vital role for conferences, meetings, seminars, debates and voice applications in general, where several microphones are open at the same time. In all these cases, the automatic mixing function avoids background noises or risk of coupling, reducing the level or automatically muting the microphones that are not in use and ensuring that he hears perfectly to who is making use of the word. In this sense, the auto-gain D-Classic algorithm, developed by Allen & Heath, is among the best today available. This algorithm can manage up to 16 microphones, following priority settings given by the sound technician.
Wireless control from iPad
The Qu-Pad app for iPad provides instant wireless control of mixing and other parameters, allowing the user to move freely by the place of the event. Many times by aesthetic issues, issues of space, or simply because the mixer is a rack of installation, it is not possible that the engineer in charge of the mixture is situated opposite the scene.
However, with the app Qu-Pad iPad this is resolved. To use this application, simply connect the Qu-Cap Ethernet port to an economic hotspot WiFi, available at any computer store.
Recording and playback from USB
Qu-Drive of the Qu-PAC function allows recording and playback of stereo audio (usually output l-r bus) up to 18 tracks, a memory or USB hard drive either. This allows a very comfortable recording of the content of the events, or the use of music playback, voice in off, etc.; all from the front USB port of Qu-PAC.
In addition, Qu-Pac is also an excellent interface for 32 inputs/32 outputs audio, compatible with Windows and Mac, from the rear USB port. Qu-PAC also offers solutions for custom monitor mixes; well Qu-You for iPhone app or by mixers personal I-1, which are connected to Qu-PAC using port dSNAKE.
