Please Kill Mr Know It All And Unlucky Both Up For Best Feature Film

TORONTO (October 4, 2013) - The Breakthrough Entertainment-distributed motion pictures PLEASE KILL MR KNOW IT ALL and UNLUCKY have received numerous nominations for the 2013 Canadian Comedy Awards. Six nominations are for PLEASE KILL MR KNOW IT ALL and three for UNLUCKY.

PLEASE KILL MR KNOW IT ALL'S six nominations include Best Feature Film , Best Direction In A Feature (SANDRA FELDMAN and COLIN CARTER), Best Writing In A Feature (SANDRA FELDMAN), Best Male Performance In A Feature (JEFFERSON BROWN), and two nods in the Best Female Performance In A Feature category (JESSICA BOOKER and LARA JEAN CHOROSTECKI). Jessica Booker, who died at the age of 92 in February, will also be honored posthumously during the ceremony alongside other luminaries who passed away in 2013.

UNLUCKY'S three nominations include Best Feature Film, Best Male Performance In A Feature (JIM ANNAN) and Best Direction In a Feature (IAN A. ROBERTSON).

PLEASE KILL MR KNOW IT ALL follows cynical SALLY (LARA JEAN CHOROSTECKI) as she lives a life free of excitement and romance (the way she likes it). Although Sally would like to be a novelist, she makes ends meet ghostwriting a local advice column under the pseudonym Mr. Know-It-All. After a celebrity endorsement (COLIN MOCHRIE and TOM WILSON) turns her column into an overnight success, the newspaper requests a photo of the author from Sally's best friend and agent, PATTI (KRISTINA PESIC). Unfortunately, Patti has been lying to the newspaper and they believe that a man has been writing the column all along. Trouble really ensues however when the girlfriend of a mob boss decides to pack up and leave after being inspired by one of Mr. Know-It-All's columns. The MOB BOSS (JEFFERSON BROWN) is heart-broken and contracts a hit on Mr. Know-It-All.

UNLUCKY is the story of Darren Mackintosh (JIM ANNAN), a likable protagonist with epically bad luck. A series of ever worsening events convinces Darren that his situation is not just a coincidence; he sets out to get to the bottom of his curse with the help of his highly unqualified psychiatrist, Dr. Frankel (ALAN CATLIN). Along the way, things are complicated by an angry mob boss, two hard-nosed detectives, belligerent co-workers, an unforgiving boss, an eccentric billionaire, her brow-beaten butler, a Luther Vandross impersonator, a rogue FBI agent, a beautiful stranger, her escaped convict ex-boyfriend, inappropriate landlords, a vicious poodle and an alien abduction conspiracy.
