TVBEurope is launching a new webinar series that will bring together experts from across the media and entertainment technology industry to discuss the latest trends, challenges, and opportunities in the market.

The State of Play series will begin with an 8K/UHD session on 11th July, and will involve interactive panel discussions focusing on key topics and themes such as the migration to IP workflows; UHD/HDR development; live streaming; the impact of 5G; speech-to-text solutions; asset management, storage and archiving; and much more.

This is a great opportunity to learn from some of the leading experts in our market on some of our most pressing topics; and importantly for our audience, for them to be part of that conversation, explained James McKeown, B2B group content director at TVBEurope's parent company, Future.

Our industry is a community, and while there will always be a place for presentation-based content, we wanted to do something different with the webinar concept to make it more accessible and valuable to attendees. Shifting the model from presentation' to conversation' draws on those community values, and naturally invites a broader, healthier perspective on key industry topics.

Attendees will be able to play an active part in the discussion by submitting questions to the panel upon registration as well as at any point during the live session. In addition, registered attendees can also put themselves forward to take part in future State of Play sessions and even submit their own suggestions for discussion topics.

We're not just looking for people to submit questions for our panels, we want people to join the conversation and start new ones, said McKeown. We are actively encouraging people to get in touch, so whether you want to join a panel as a speaker or want to suggest a new topic for discussion, we look forward to hearing from you.

The series opens with State of Play: 8K, UHD, and HDR on Thursday 11th July, exploring the latest advances and use cases from the world of ultra high definition (4K and 8K), higher frame rates, and high dynamic range.

Speakers include Thierry Fautier, president-chair of the Ultra HD Forum, and Andy Beale, chief engineer, BT Sport, and will be moderated by TVBEurope editor, Jenny Priestley.
