Unified Video Technologies CTO Ariel Matzkin To Lead Caribbean Broadcasting Union Workshop

Representatives of broadcasters including ABS, Antigua; ATV and STVS, Suriname; CCN TV6 and Guardian Media Ltd., Trinidad; GBN, Grenada; NBC, St. Vincent; and TeleCuracao, Curacao have confirmed their attendance.

This archiving workshop is designed for managers and senior operatives of regional broadcasters who are responsible for handling their companies' IP assets. The workshop, entitled Archiving and Utilization of Archived Materials for Economic Benefit, will present best practices for leveraging broadcasters' legacy archives, and cover topics including the transition to tapeless configurations, benefits and optimal approaches to digitization, asset retrieval and access options, monetizing intellectual property, and more.

In light of the great economic potential of legacy content that is stored in our members' video archives, Caribbean Broadcasting Union member executives recently decided to focus greater attention on exploring important issues and considerations in actualizing that potential, said Patrick Cozier, Secretary General of the CBU.
