METLIFE ANNOUNCES STRENGENED STRATEGIC PARTNERSHIP with HISPANIC NATIONAL BAR AOCIATION

NEW YORK - March 5, 2013 MetLife (NYSE: MET) announced today that it has strengthened its strategic partnership with the Hispanic National Bar Association (HNBA) through its continued sponsorship of the HNBA National Mentorship Program. MetLife partnered with the HNBA to develop the program that connects HNBA members and law students in their local region.

In support of the mentoring program, MetLife hosted a welcome reception for HNBA New York mentors and mentees at one of MetLife's offices in New York City. Ricardo A. Anzaldua, recently appointed as MetLife's executive vice president & general counsel, and a member of HNBA since 2002, was the keynote speaker at the event.

MetLife has a long history of supporting organizations that are committed to workplace diversity, said Anzaldua. Learning to teach is crucial to success in a corporate setting. MetLife is proud to support the HNBA and the benefits that the mentoring program provides to its mentors and mentees.

As part of its partnership, MetLife will support the HNBA's mentoring program and other opportunities scheduled across various HNBA regions for Hispanic lawyers to mentor aspiring law school students. Previously, the company has sponsored HNBA mentoring events in San Diego, New York, New Jersey, Washington, D.C., Houston and Philadelphia. In 2013, MetLife will also sponsor the HNBA National Convention in Denver, CO and the Corporate Counsel Conference in Atlanta, GA.
