B-Balls to Beats: Two American Tobacco Events Guaranteed to Make You Sweat

Register Now for 3-on-3 Bball Tourney, Dont Miss New Art Exhibit

American Tobacco is offering two very distinct ways to get involved on campus and with the Durham community.

The Second Annual 3-on-3 Bull City Shootout Basketball Tournament is back and better than ever. The wildly popular tourney pitting 32 of the community's best amateur players against one another will take place in the brand new Cage @ ATC March 27-28.

Teams are welcome to begin registering for this great event. $5,000 from the event will be donated to the local Boys and Girls Clubs: $2,500 to the John Avery Boys and Girls Club and $2,500 to the Salvation Army Boys and Girls Club.

While contestants heading to the Cage will need to work on their team rhythm in advance of the tourney, they can take a page from a new exhibit launching at American Tobacco showcasing Durham's soul, funk and R&B past.

Soul Souvenirs: Durham's Musical Memories from the 60's and 70's will survey the origins, influences, politics, history, local landmarks and media impact of Durham's rich soul music scene.

The exhibit (Feb. 8 - April 12, Crowe Lobby) is curated by historians Joshua Clark Davis and Jason Perlmutter of Carolina Soul. Exhibit design by Lincoln Hancock and Robin Vuchnich. The exhibit is sponsored by American Tobacco and Flanders Gallery.
