EUROTEK CHOOSES SGL'S FLASHNET ARCHIVE FOR RT FAST PROJECT 29 May 2013

Software Generation Ltd (SGL), a leading provider of content archive and storage management software for media and entertainment, has announced that systems integrator Eurotek has selected SGL FlashNet for a major digital upgrade project for RT , Ireland's national broadcaster. The File Acquisition and Server Technology (FAST) project will allow RT to support file-based workflows, allowing its assets to be easily available to a significantly increased number of users throughout the production process.

The new workflow sees SGL's storage management solution FlashNet integrated with TMD's Mediaflex asset management system, which provides the content management, preparation and workflow platform for FAST, and a Spectralogic T950 library. The tight integration between the three systems based at the broadcaster's Dublin headquarters, provides RT with a seamless workflow that significantly improves operational procedures. Users can browse assets and request material to be restored from the archive with a few mouse clicks.

The FAST system is due to go on-air in summer 2013.
