The award-winning electronic duo of Empire of the Sun will make their long-awaited return this Friday.

The duo, which consists of Nick Littlemore and Luke Steele, has not released an album since 2016 but the band has teased new music for over a year now.

Last week, Australian dance act PNAU dropped a hint that they joined forces with Empire of the Sun for a new song which left fans confused and excited at the same time.

Empire of the Sun returns after 7 long years Littlemore is a member of both Empire of the Sun and PNAU while Steele has also heavily featured on PNAU's records, especially their self-titled record. Peter Mayes, who is part of the dance trio, produced all of Empire of the Sun's three albums.

After a week of teasing, PNAU and Empire of the Sun are set to drop their new single called AEIOU . The EDM-inspired track promises to be a banger and has elements of both PNAU and EOTS sounds.

Best known for their hit singles Walking on a Dream, Alive and We are the People, Australia's larger-than-life electronic wizards took the world by storm when they dropped off their debut album Walking on a Dream. The record was highly rated and is often regarded as one of the best electropop albums of all time.

Empire of the Sun's Walking on a Dream. Their second album(Ice on the Dune), was well-received and debuted at number 20 on the Billboard 200. In Australia, the album reached number three and has since been certified Gold.

In February, the band performed in Australia for the first time in six years.

I feel like this is the perfect time for Empire Of The Sun to come back, Steele told The Music.

I think there's always been tremendous love for this band.

Had so many calls, emails, messages and requests from people yearning for the songs and the music. There were a lot of testimonies about what they'd been through, you know, from people getting over cancer to getting married to giving them hope during moments of deep depression, said the Empire of the Sun lead singer.

It became quite evident that we had become conduits or ambassadors and we have to honour that. This is the new era of Empire Of The Sun.
