La propuesta de producci n en directo sobre IP de Sony cobra fuerza In Las Vegas, Sony has announced several new capabilities within IP Live production system which further extend the totality of the IP-based ecosystem. Also it has unveiled some of the first projects based on live production over IP around the world.

The adoption of IP by broadcasters around the world is gaining popularity for its proven ability to deliver 4 K video, audio, synchronization signals and control data quality and live through a single network cable.

NAB 2017 has been clear that IP Live solution of Sony currently "ready for tomorrow". IP Showcase booth, jointly organized by AES, AIMS, AMWA, EBU, ROOTER, MNA, SMPTE and VSF, visitors were able to analyze details of the success of the interoperability testing that Sony has carried out together with important suppliers, such as Grass Valley, Snell Advanced Media and Evertz. Sony is also committed to develop capabilities that adhere to new technologies such as, for example, SMPTE ST2110 (still in draft), that controls the media transfer via IP, and NMOS (IS-04), which guarantees the detection and registration of devices. Sony is committed to providing compatibility with SMPTE ST2110 in the near future.

In Las Vegas, Sony has announced several new capabilities within IP Live production system which further extend the totality of the IP-based ecosystem. Also added a new functionality to IP Live System Manager capable of integrating with a system based on the Protocol Ember + as VSM (Virtual Studio Manager) of Lawo, one of surveillance and systems control leaders of the sector, offering broadcasters more flexibility to configure your IP according to your requirements.

The new version 2.3 of the Sony XVS-8000 multi-format production switcher series adds capabilities to share resources. This means that a same processor can run practically Mixer functions doubles, which allows to create a simultaneous production in 4 K/HD, for example.

Card multiplexadora/demultiplexadora AV NXLK-IP45F new, available at the end of this month, adds the ability to multiplex and demultiplex the video and audio through IP signals, which ensures that both systems can be managed through the IP network.

The new unit converter SDI-IP NXL-IP4F, also available at the end of this month, facilitates the integration of any source or destination 4 K/HD independent with a production system based on IP.

Ongoing projects

Television stations are of any size implementing IP live production to enjoy greater efficiency, reliability, and scalability, thanks to the reduction of the cost of the system.

Among other projects underway, highlights Studioworks BBC in the United Kingdom where Sony is providing 4K IP renewed studies of television by the BBC in London.

For his part, TV Globo (Brazil) issued live at Rios Carnival with the mobile unit IP 4K de Sony. HDR and SDR HD simultaneous 4K production it has succeeded thanks to the "SR in direct HDR" solution.

Sky Perfect JSAT in Japan has also adopted the 4K IP routing system to transmit and monitor 4K videos for emissions in IP.

In China, Central Television CCTV (which has just released its first mobile unit 4 K IP with all the basic components of the IP Live system for technological research and gain experience in television production at UHD); Zhejiang Radio & TV Group (which held this year a mobile unit 4 K IP for live broadcast at 4K and HDR); China Digital Culture Group (which purchased a mobile unit 4 K IP from Sony that will get underway in August of 2017 and will be used for the reproduction of plays live and the issuance of entertainment events); and 4 K Garden (the main platform of services with content 4K purchased 4 K IP mobile unit of Sony in China to offer compelling content live 4 k) are a good example of the deployment of IP environments.

El sistema de demostraci n conect a distancia un equipo de producci n en directo en el estudio de Sony Pictures en Los ngeles con el equipo de Las Vegas, lo que puso de manifiesto la forma en la que IP Live puede conectar salas de control en las instalaciones de transmisi n con recintos de eventos en directo a cientos de kil metros de distancia, sin que afecte a la latencia, la conmutaci n o la fiabilidad.
