Lectrosonics for Les Fusilles - Award winning sound man working in the field - literally

Award winning French sound engineer Frederic de Ravignan has been working on a movie for French television called Les Fusill s, directed by Phillippe Triboit using wireless systems by Lectrosonics. Based on a story of heroism and betrayal in the trenches of the first world war, the production by Tidal Films takes place in Gouzangrez, deep in the Val- dOise. The set is surrounded by fields of rapeseed, wheat and sugar beet, land decimated during the First World War. This setting will have served for five days of shooting, the other scenes of the film are shot in and around Meriel and Luzarches, two other towns in the Val dOise. The film is due be released this winter on France 3.

Known for his work on Jappeloup and A few hours of Spring, de Ravignana explained: I have been using Lectrosonics equipment for the last few years on all my Film and Television projects and for this production it is superb as usual

He was originally persuaded to use Lectrosonics equipment by French dealer Tapages e Nocturnes who offered to let him try it. He said: The first thing that impressed me about the Lectrosonics gear was the compatibility of the receivers to the 5212 transmitters from Sennheiser. For me the audio quality of the HM was way higher than the Sennheiser SKP3000 so it is the perfect combination.

There is certainly some serious sound to record as they plan to blow up a load of dynamite. "We had to ask permission from the prefecture of Val dOise to use the dynamite. said production designer Christophe Thiollier. The explosion should throw earth more than ten meters in the air. We are using peat, which is lighter than soil.

Frederic added that he now cannot imagine working without without the Octopack Portable Multicoupler and the HM Digital Hybrid transmitters for the boom operator.
