PALO ALTO, Calif. - HP Enterprise Services today announced a secure private cloud solution designed to help governments and public sector agencies accelerate their journey to the cloud, resulting in improved service delivery, quicker time to value and reduced IT costs.

As public sector agencies transition to the New Style of IT, a cloud solution is their first step toward meeting mission-critical workloads more efficiently and effectively. To meet these demands, agencies need a cloud delivery model that provides increased levels of security, agile performance, robust service levels and tight integration to outsourced operations.

HP Helion Managed Private Cloud for Public Sector provides ongoing management services in support of complete, open cloud platforms and leverages HP Cloud technology to provide a common architectural foundation across traditional IT-as well as private, managed and public clouds. It also can provision and administer infrastructure, provide infrastructure security and deliver Information Technology Infrastructure Library (ITIL)-based service management.

The solution offers a managed, dedicated private cloud that enables federal, state and local governments to implement a shared service model across multiple departments. The managed private cloud allows agencies to act as IT brokers by accessing a web-based portal to manage consumption and monitor resources, allowing charge back of costs to departments and business units.

The pre-engineered, pre-integrated, pre-automated, pre-tested private cloud accelerates deployment while providing a secure cloud environment from HP, client-owned or third-party data centers. As a result, agencies have the flexibility to rapidly scale and deliver specific mission-driven services directly to their own internal stakeholders, while simultaneously allowing them to pay only for what they need and to more effectively control costs.

HP Helion Managed Private Cloud for Public Sector is designed to improve the overall security plan of agencies over time and address the unique certification and regulatory compliance needs of the federal government, including the Federal Risk and Authorization Management Program (FedRAMPSM) moderate impact level, FISMA high, HIPAA and the Defense Information System Agency Enterprise Cloud Service Broker (DISA ECSB) impact Level-5.
