Blancco Wins 2012 President of the Finnish Republic's Prestigious Internationalization Award - Jan 31 2013 Data erasure leader is recognized along with two other leading Finnish companies for success in the international market

JOENSUU, Finland, January31, 2013Blancco, the global leader in data erasure and computer reuse solutions, has been selected to receive a 2012 Internationalization Award of the President of the Republic of Finland. Each year, Finpro, a global organization that promotes the growth and success of Finnish companies on the international market, performs a search and preliminary assessment for award nominees, then prepares a proposal to the President of the Republic in cooperation with the Association for Finnish Work. This year, President Sauli Niinist of the Finnish Republic has selected three companies for the prestigious award.

Now in their 45th year of recognizing outstanding international growth for Finnish companies, the awards were presented in Helsinki today. Blancco CEO and Co-Founder Kim Visnen and Chairman of the Board Dr. Michael Rchner represented Blancco at the event. Other 2012 winners are Rovio Entertainment, the gaming and entertainment company that created the mobile game sensation Angry Birds, and garment manufacturer L-Fashion Group.

As we enter our 16th year as the global leader in data erasure, it is an honor to be recognized for our hard work and technology development, said Visnen. And we are delighted to accept the award alongside two other outstanding Finnish companies that have made names for themselves globally.

According to Finpro CEO Kari Hyrinen, the prize winners are an example to encourage other Finnish companies to internationalize. Export and business growth are prerequisites for Finlands success, he said. At Finpro, we take the awards very seriously, because the success of these companies is Finland's success as well. Blancco, Rovio and L-Fashion Group are outstanding examples of the risk and courage it takes to be a contender in the global market, and we are proud to honor what they have done for our country.

In nominating Blancco, Finpro noted that the company's business idea was born when its founders read about the Finnish hospital that sold a used computer containing data about more than 3,000 patients. This gave rise to the idea of professional data destruction products for hard drives. Today, with millions of licenses sold around the world, Blanccos customer base includes the European Commission, NATO, SAP, broadcaster Al-Jazeera, and many of the worlds largest financial institutions.
