ABI Research prev que en 2022 se vender n 56 millones de dispositivos y pronostica que todos los aparatos comercializados en Am rica del Norte y Europa Occidental ser n 4K en 2022.
Sam Rosen, director gerente y vicepresidente de ABI Research, destaca que los dispositivos de streaming 4K est n entrando en el mercado en los productos finales m s altos. Los dispositivos de streaming 4K representan en 2017 aproximadamente el 35% y el 24% de las ventas en Norteam rica y Europa Occidental, respectivamente. A medida que crece la penetraci n de los televisores 4K y la oferta de contenido premium crece la oportunidad de ingresos sustancial para los estudios y los proveedores de servicios de streaming, y esto impulsar la venta de dispositivos para el streaming 4K .
Los servicios de streaming de v deo se est n convirtiendo cada vez m s en una alternativa de reemplazo para los servicios tradicionales de televisi n de pago a medida que los operadores se asocian con terceros OTT o comienzan a ofrecer servicios de streaming independientes, como Dish Network Sling TV y NOW TV de Sky in Europe. Esta abundancia de servicios de streaming de v deo de bajo costo y sin contrato impulsa la adopci n de dispositivos de streaming de medios, los cuales pueden ser ofrecidos gratuitamente o subsidiados de cara a la captaci n de suscriptores , asegura Sandi Lynn, analista de industria de ABI Research.
Los proveedores de servicios est n introduciendo en el mercado dispositivos de streaming dirigidos a consumidores que piensan cortar el cable y/o nunca han suscrito un servicio tradicional de televisi n de pago. Mientras que las cajas proporcionan a los operadores de televisi n de pago granseguridad y flexibilidad, la lucha para muchos operadores de televisi n de pago radica en convencer a los consumidores a instalar una nueva caja que no gestione otros servicios de video populares.
