NAB 2026: Suite Studios integrates file-streaming technology into Frame.io Drive

Suite Studios has integrated its file-streaming technology into the newly announced Frame.io Drive, a desktop application from Adobe company Frame.io. The collaboration aims to provide users with direct access to media files within their operating system, removing the need for manual downloads or synchronisation.

The Frame.io Drive application enables files to appear in macOS Finder and Windows File Explorer as if they were stored on a local drive. This functionality removes the traditional requirements for relinking, transferring, or syncing assets, allowing creatives to access media directly from the platform within their standard production tools.

Historically, Frame.io has functioned as a review and approval platform where teams export cuts, upload to the service, and manage feedback. The integration of file-streaming technology alters this process by allowing media to be accessed and utilised directly from the start of production, with Frame.io Drive serving as a central hub for media assets.

For distributed creative teams-including post-production houses, brand studios, and sports media departments-managing the location of media assets has previously created workflow bottlenecks. By incorporating file streaming, the platform provides remote teams with access to footage without the latency associated with manual file transfers. This allows collaborators to remain connected to shared files and workflows across different locations, while maintaining security standards.
