The entire Fox Corp. is involved in the company's Super Bowl LVII presence, and, while Fox Sports is garnering the bulk of the attention as the main English-language broadcaster, Fox Deportes is providing an exclusive Spanish-language telecast along with a hefty amount of studio programming. With a production model linking facilities in Los Angeles, Mexico City, and onsite in Phoenix, the network has improved their efforts for the biggest televised game in American sports.
We'll be broadcasting 11 hours of coverage on Super Bowl Sunday, with 10 hours of live coverage from Phoenix and Mexico City, says Enrique Lozano, coordinating producer and interim VP, production, Fox Deportes. It's our responsibility to bring the best that we can to the Hispanic market.

Programming in Phoenix: Studio Sets on Radio Row and the Great Lawn Before heading out to State Farm Stadium and the Phoenix metropolitan area, Lozano was involved in the planning process. Multiple trips to Phoenix and a handful of site surveys helped plot out the land the network would use for onsite studio shows.
With the support of the production and operations staff at Fox Sports - including SVP, Technical and Field Operations, Mike Davies; VP, Field Operations and Engineering, Brad Cheney; and Technical Producer Brady Polansky - Lozano and his crew carved out a space on the Great Lawn next to Fox Sports' main studio set. Deploying a Home Run Production from its Los Angeles headquarters and the same desk used during Fox Sports' coverage of the 2022 MLB All-Star Game at Dodger Stadium, the set boasts a beautiful backdrop of the venue's exterior and provides a platform for programs like NFLeros with Adrian Garcia-Marquez, Rodolfo Landeros, Jessi Losada, and two-time Pro Bowler Alejandro Villanueva.
The set on the Great Lawn is covered by such technology as a jib camera.
Away from State Farm Stadium, the network has a presence at Radio Row at the Phoenix Convention Center. Content is captured by an ENG crew and an RF camera - a broadcast technology that Fox Deportes has refined through coverage of NASCAR and the MLB World Series. From there, standups with reporters, for example, can be infused into the standard flow of shows.

On Sunday, a large chunk of Fox Deportes' 25 hours of total studio programming will be produced from this set in Phoenix. Beginning at 11 a.m. ET with a one-hour edition of Mundo NFL, the schedule will be headlined by a 2 -hour pregame show starting at 4 p.m. ET.
Offsite Locales: Mexico City, Los Angeles Serve Up Additional Content With coverage expanding to outside the U.S., the facility in Mexico City - a metropolis with a huge NFL following - is producing content for viewers leading up to the Big Game. A show that debuted in September, Total Sports 360 is presenting live shows from a brand-new studio set. Hosted by Majo Montemayor and featuring prominent voices from around sports broadcasting, the program is an overarching look at not only the NFL landscape but also professional sports at large. The show, as well as other programs originating from Mexico City, can be mixed into the production of El Entretiempo, a debate-style show that features expert personalities from around the country through remote video feeds.
Total Sports 360 is one of Fox Deportes shows being produced in Mexico City.
In the U.S., another new studio in Los Angeles is entertaining fans with its own slate of productions. Having played a large role during the early rounds of the NFL Playoffs, talent will continue to provide expert analysis of both the Kansas City Chiefs and the Philadelphia Eagles. The offsite locations and the action in Phoenix are linked via IFB communication.
For the Spanish-language telecast of the Big Game, Fox Deportes' production team will pick up the video feed of Fox Sports' linear broadcast and add onsite commentary by Garcia-Marquez and Villanueva. The finalized version seen by viewers at home will be cut in Los Angeles. This broadcast feed, along with studio programming not originating in Los Angeles, will be sent to a control room in L.A. and to Mexico City via solutions from Haivision.

We don't plan to deviate too much from the English-language coverage because they do a great job, says Lozano. For Super Bowl LIV in Miami, we had a flypack that was sending everything to L.A. in one massive feed. Now, with the possibility and capabilities that we have with Haivision, our director can pick and choose whichever shot he wants.
Constant Evolution: Fox Deportes Continues Exponential Growth After broadcasting the highest-rated Spanish-language cable telecasts in Super Bowl history in previous efforts, in 2017 and 2020, Fox Deportes is heading into Super Bowl LVII with a lot of positive momentum. Lozano has been present for every single one as a member of the company for 17 years. Over the years, he has noticed how much the show evolves and grows in both size and scope.
