WeVideo engages fans through social video creation Sony Pictures and WeVideo, Inc., the leading online video creation platform, today launched a new online experience that enables fans of the global music phenomenon, One Direction, to remix the movie trailer for the upcoming film, ONE DIRECTION: THIS IS US. Fans will be able to use exclusive assets from the film - including music tracks and behind-the-scenes clips - as well as WeVideo's video editing platform to create their own, personalized versions of the trailer.
The trailer website includes an embedded WeVideo video editor that allows users to edit their own versions of the trailer mixing movie clips, still photography, music tracks and graphics. Fans will also have the opportunity to publish their 60-second remixes on a dedicated YouTube channel, as well as push the remix out to their friends on Twitter and Facebook.
Social video engagement enables brands to provide richly interactive online experiences for consumers, said Jostein Svendsen, CEO and Co-founder of WeVideo. The trailer remix experience is not only an entertaining experience for One Direction fanatics, but it also connects the popular music brand to consumers in a unique and meaningful way.
ONE DIRECTION: THIS IS US will be released in theaters in the U.S. on Friday, August 30, 2013. The film is a captivating and intimate all-access look at life on the road for the global music phenomenon. Weaved with stunning live concert footage, this inspiring feature film tells the remarkable story of Niall, Zayn, Liam, Harry and Louis meteoric rise to fame, from their humble hometown beginnings and competing on the X-Factor, to conquering the world and performing at London's famed O2 Arena. Hear it from the boys themselves and see through their own eyes what its really like to be One Direction.
