Maxon at the Ars Electronica 2018

Since its inception in 1979, the Ars Electronica Festival has celebrated creativity and innovation in digital media. Computer animation became a permanent component of the festival in 1987 with John Lasseter' Pixar short film Luxor Jr.' In the meantime, a multi-day symposium is dedicated to the animation, which is curated together with the Hagenburg campus at the University of Austria.

We're very happy that MAXON, a major player in the 3D industry, is again supporting the Expanded Symposium and the Ars Electronica Festival 2018, says J rgen Hagler, director of the Ars Electronica Animation Festival. Thanks to MAXON's support, the animation festival will again be able to offer visitors a wide range of experts who are at the forefront of bringing industry and art together.

MAXON will be offering its support for the second year running and we are again looking forward to welcoming important personalities from the Cinema 4D community. For example, Vera-Maria Glahn from London-based Field Studio and Henrik Mauler from Berlin-based avantgarde collective Zeitguised will present a selection of their works. Kuba Matyka, from the Warsaw-based creative workshop Melt, created his own animation for the Ars Electronica Center's 8k Deepspace, which will be presented to the public for the first time at the festival. In conjunction with the Ars Electronica 2018 we will also be initiating a technical cooperation with the Ars Electronica Futurelab with which we want to show that the collaboration of art, research and industry is an essential driving force for innovation that we are happy to support.
