Powering and wireless accessory for the 688 mixer/recorder wins Technical Achievement Award for Production at 52nd Annual CAS Awards.
REEDSBURG, WI - Sound Devices is pleased to announce that its SL-6 powering and wireless system has taken home a Cinema Audio Society (CAS) Technical Achievement Award in the Production category.
The Cinema Audio Society was formed in 1964 for the purpose of sharing information with sound professionals in the motion picture and television industry. Sound Devices has now been a recipient of the prestigious CAS Technical Achievement Award six times. The 744T, 788T, and 970 recorders, as well as the 664 and 633 field production mixers, are all past winners.

When the SL-6 accessory is attached atop the 688 mixer/recorder, sound professionals instantly gain the benefit of cable-free powering, audio interconnection, and antenna distribution. When used with SuperSlot-compatible receivers, the 688 provides audio professionals with fully integrated wireless control and monitoring direct from the mixer's LCD. The SL-6 can even be used as a powering hub for other peripheral devices in the bag thanks to its NP1 battery slot, USB charging port, two 12-V isolated outputs, and two non-isolated direct battery outputs.
The SL-6 powering and wireless system uses Sound Devices' SuperSlot technology. SuperSlot is the industry's first non-proprietary, open wireless control and interfacing standard, developed by Sound Devices in collaboration with a number of leading wireless manufacturers - Lectrosonics, Wisycom, Sennheiser, and Audio Limited.
