SCTE CABLE-TEC EXPO INTERNATIONAL BREAKFAST PANELISTS TO DISCUSS NEED FOR 360-DEGREE VIEW OF CUSTOMER
Annual Breakfast, Expo International Attendance Continue Impressive Growth
OCT. 1, 2013 (Exton, PA) New technologies and techniques for increased customer satisfaction will top the agenda when the Society of Cable Telecommunications Engineers (SCTE) hosts hundreds of delegates from around the world at its annual International Attendee Breakfast on Thursday, Oct. 24, at SCTE Cable-Tec Expo 2013.
Operator, vendor and association executives from four continents will discuss how cable networks can be prepared to offer the 360-degree view of the customer that is essential to achieving customer satisfaction. During the invitation-only event, panelists will discuss a variety of topics, including:
How cable operators worldwide vary in capabilities, technologies, and approaches for maximizing customer satisfaction, network capabilities and revenue opportunities;
How UHDTV is being deployed in Japan while ensuring customer satisfaction and managing anticipated issues;
How Cablevision Argentina is improving customer service and quality of experience for video on demand via mathematical modeling; and
How European regulators' demands for measurement of customer bandwidth may not produce the most accurate view of customer satisfaction, and thus the real challenge is helping customers optimize their home networks.
Panelists for the International Attendee Breakfast will include: Hiroshi Asami, executive vice president, Japan Cable Television Engineering Association (JCTEA); Charles Cheevers, CTO, CPE Solutions, ARRIS Group, Inc.; Robert Rothschild, headend engineering, Cablevisi n S.A., Argentina; and Carsten Engelke, director, technology, ANGA COM (Association of German Cable Operators). The International Attendee Breakfast is sponsored by ARRIS.
"The growth of the International Breakfast parallels the growth of SCTE Cable-Tec Expo as a premier forum for cable engineering education and technology," said Daniel Howard, senior vice president, engineering and CTO for SCTE. "As our international attendance has grown to last year's record total of 69 countries, the International Breakfast has become a must-attend event to discuss the worldwide goal of excellence in cable engineering."
SCTE Cable-Tec Expo 2013 is set for Monday through Thursday, Oct. 21-24. Two pre-conference symposia, one called "DOCSIS 3.1 Engineering" and another entitled "Creating the Cable Generalist," will be held on Monday, Oct. 21. SCTE Cable-Tec Expo and the symposia will take place at the Georgia World Congress Center in Atlanta. Discounted pre-registrations for both SCTE Cable-Tec Expo and the symposia are available through next Tuesday, Oct. 8 at http://expo.scte.org.
The Oct. 22 Opening General Session will include a keynote conversation between NCTA President & CEO Michael Powell and Kevin Hart, executive vice president and CTO of Cox Communications and chairman of the SCTE Cable-Tec Expo Program Committee, as well as two thought-leadership panels. Pat Esser, president of Cox Communications, will moderate a C-Suite panel featuring Dave Watson, executive vice president and CEO of Comcast, and Bob Stanzione, chairman and CEO of ARRIS; and John Schanz, chief network officer and executive vice president of Comcast, will moderate a network operations panel featuring: Yvette Kanouff, executive vice president, corporate engineering and technology, Cablevision Systems Corporation; Guy McCormick, vice president, engineering, Cox Communications; Matthew Stanek, senior vice president of core, regional, metro and network operations, Time Warner Cable; and Marwan Fawaz, partner with Sarepta Advisors.
SCTE Cable-Tec Expo is the leading venue for helping the cable telecommunications industry and its workforce to reduce costs, deploy new services and increase customer satisfaction. SCTE Cable-Tec Expo 2013 will offer a wide variety of learning events and demonstrations, as well as peer-to-peer interaction and networking.
Expo will feature thought leaders confronting technical challenges facing the industry; hundreds of hands-on, technology-centric exhibits; an extensive menu of robust and relevant technical workshops; the International Cable-Tec Games; the IP Challenge highlighting expertise in IP networking and engineering; and other events.
