Platypus Productions' director Ian Chuter has had his busiest start to a year yet, cementing his position as one of South Africa's leading food specialists with back-to-back campaigns for the likes of McDonalds, Royco Africa, Snowflake, and Woolworths, who have been a repeat client for Ian for the last seven years.
DDB Johannesburg creative director Matthew Berge raved about his experience working with Ian on McDonalds and Royco Africa, thanking Platypus for being one of the most talented and professional outfits we've ever had the pleasure of working with.
Festus Masekwameng, creative director of Mojo MotherRussia, was equally complimentary about Ian's work for Snowflake. From treatment to set, Ian ran a tight operation. We were particularly impressed by Ians interpretation of the clients strat and agency idea, as well as his comfort in handling a food commercial that also has little nuances and moments. His innovative use of lighting techniques, as well as his choice of support crew and location, all contributed to a memorable commercial.
Platypus provided a full-service creative solution on all four campaigns, handling the direction, production and post production in-house.
Ian particularly enjoyed working with Ghana's World Cup captain Asamoah Gyan on the Royco Africa job. They're in the group of death with Germany and Portugal, but I'll be cheering for the Black Stars this World Cup, says Ian.
