HP-Dreamworks collaboration
HP y Dreamworks trabajan conjuntamente para crear un laboratorio vivo en el que continuamente se implementan las ltimas y m s avanzadas tecnolog as, tal y como demanda la exigente industria del cine. De esta manera, no solo es posible mejorar los actuales procesos de creaci n de pel culas de animaci n, sino que tambi n se pueden desarrollar soluciones pioneras que ayuden a otras industrias con necesidades similares.
Por ejemplo, cuando la industria inform tica sustituy los monitores CRT por pantallas planas, provoc algunos problemas notables, ya que los monitores LCD de ese momento no ten an los niveles de calidad de los CRT. La riqueza visual de una pel cula depende de la consistencia y la profundidad de color que proporciona una Workstation.
En este sentido, HP y DreamWorks Animation desarrollaron conjuntamente el primer monitor DreamColor que ofrec a hasta mil millones de colores con un m nimo margen de error, imperceptible al ojo humano. En la actualidad DreamWorks Animation cuenta con el nuevo HP DreamColor Z27X para los flujos de trabajo m s exigentes. Con una mayor precisi n de color y una excelente relaci n calidad precio, los monitores DreamColor se han convertido en los aliados de artistas digitales, dise adores, editores de v deo y hasta gamers.
En esta producci n se han empleado 700 millones de archivos digitales que utilizan m s de 400 terabytes de datos. Se trata de la cifra m s alta utilizada en una producci n de DreamWorks hasta el momento. En su postproducci n se han desarrollado m s de 130.000 frames generados por ordenador y 270.000 millones de p xeles.
En total, este ingente trabajo ha supuesto 90 millones de horas de renderizaci n, con servidores trabajando en el proceso una media de 500.000 trabajos de render al d a.
Asimismo, HP ha proporcionado la tecnolog a de ltima generaci n de Infraestructura Covergente para soportar todos los aspectos de la producci n de la pel cula, as como workstations de alto rendimiento HP Z800 y Z820, y monitores profesionales HP DreamColor; HP BladeSystem c7000, una mezcla de blades de servidores HP ProLiant y almacenamiento convergente escalable que ofrece la plataforma HP 3PAR StoreServ Storage; HP Networking, ofreciendo al estudio unos niveles continuos de disponibilidad y rendimiento, al tiempo que se reduce la complejidad de la red; y servicios utility que dan respuesta a los picos de demanda de recursos, al tiempo que se ajustan a los presupuestos y a la capacidad del data center.
