December 9 2024, 18:00 (PST) Emperor Cinemas to Adopt New Dolby Vision Dolby Atmos Offering for Premium Moviegoing Experience

Beijing, China - December 10, 2024 - Dolby Laboratories, Inc. (NYSE: DLB), a leader in immersive entertainment experiences, today announced that Emperor Cinemas will be the first exhibitor in China to adopt Dolby's new combined solution of Dolby Vision Dolby Atmos as the premium sight and sound experience of their own auditoriums, starting with its new site in Taikoo Li Sanlitun, one of Beijing's top commercial districts.
The ability for exhibitors to equip their own premium theaters with Dolby Vision Dolby Atmos offers them a new way to deliver a Dolby experience to moviegoers. Emperor Cinemas plans to first upgrade its Beijing Sanlitun Taikoo Li site with Dolby Vision Dolby Atmos in 2025.
Filmmakers and moviegoers revel in the transformative theatrical experience you can only get with Dolby Vision picture quality combined with Dolby Atmos immersive sound, enabling audiences to truly live in the story of a movie.
Today's consumers in China are demanding premium immersive entertainment experiences at cinemas more than ever, said Michael Archer, Vice President of Worldwide Cinema Sales and Partner Management at Dolby. We look forward to working with Emperor Cinemas to bring the combined magic of Dolby Vision Dolby Atmos to China, first in Beijing, to empower more moviegoers to love movies more in Dolby.
Since their creation, Dolby Vision and Dolby Atmos have revolutionized premium moviegoing, empowering filmmakers to bring their creative visions to life and immersing audiences in the worlds and characters onscreen, including at numerous world premieres. Over 600 theatrical features have released or are confirmed to be in Dolby Vision and Dolby Atmos, including recent box office hits from the past year like Dune: Part Two, Barbie, Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3, Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse, and top grossing Chinese domestic titles like The Battle at Lake Changjin, Full River Red, The Wandering Earth franchise, Detective Chinatown 3, Hi, Mom, YOLO, and more.
