CineColor Chile Covers the 05 Copa Amrica with Ikegami CMOS Cameras

Soccer action is heating up with the start of the 2015 Copa Am rica, which stands as the main international soccer tournament (and the oldest in the world) for national teams held this year in Chile, South America. Mobile production provider CINECOLOR CHILE, a business division of GRUPO CHILEFILMS, is covering the three-week event with a large-scale deployment of approximately 30 Ikegami HDK-95C and HDK-79EC2 CMOS camera systems.

Both the Ikegami HDK-95C and HDK-79EC2 HD employ Ikegamis renowned CMOS imaging technology for superb picture quality. CinecolorChile will depend on their high performance to deliver lifelike imagery to the millions of viewers watching the 44th edition of the Copa Am rica. The Ikegami cameras will capture the intensive competition between 12 teams, with the winner qualifying for the 2017 FIFA Confederations Cup hosted in Russia.

They continue to offer low power consumption, no vertical smear, and a high degree of format flexibility. Part of Ikegamis Unicam HD line, the HDK-95C HD portable digital camera is equipped with Native multi-format 2.5 million pixel, 2/3 inch CMOS sensors. It also features an upgrade path to 24p and 3G formats, including 1080/60p and dual rate 1080/120i.

The new BS-98 supports 3G transmission enabling an HD trunk channel from the camera to the base station to transport the video of a POV camera back to the mobile unit. Also 4 videos are sent to the camera, including HD RET, HD QTV (for prompter or any external purpose), and two channels of SD QTV. And the 4K Super Resolution board allows the camera to output simultaneous 1080i, 1080p, and 4K.
