Grass Valley Earns Two NewBay Media Product Innovation Award
GV Node and LDX 86 Series with XDR capture the honors in third annual event
MONTREAL, December 21, 2015 Two products from Grass Valley, a Belden Brand, have been selected to receive the prestigious 2015 NewBay Media Product Innovation Award. Both GV Node, a new IP aggregation, processing and routing solution, and the LDX 86 Series with Extended Dynamic Range (XDR), one of the industrys leading broadcast cameras, have been chosen as winners. The award recognizes excellence in manufacturing of products to serve the TV/pro video and radio/online audio industries, with winners selected by a panel of professional users. This is the second year in a row that Grass Valley has won an award.

GV Node is the worlds first true real-time IP processing and routing platform, offering multipurpose IP processing, IP aggregation and vertically accurate switching capability for live applications. GV Node works equally well in standalone configurations or the scalable platform can be grouped with two other nodes. When GV Node is combined with common off-the-shelf (COTS) IP switches, extremely large capacity routing systems can be created with thousands of I/O. GV Node paired with COTS switches provides a distributed and highly scalable platform for broadcast and media facilities to offer transparent broadcast-centric operation and processing. GV Node is designed to handle deterministic vertically accurate switching within IP, supporting SDI, MADI and SMPTE 2022-6 IP inputs and outputs, as well as TICO visually lossless compression for 4K applications.
Featuring a new XDR capability that delivers 15 F-stops of dynamic range for more lifelike highlights, better color rendition and much better image reproduction in low-lit areas, the LDX 86 Series camera with Xensium-FT CMOS imager helps users capture stunning imagery for any type of production in any video format. XDR benefits live productions with the ability to capture action under extreme lighting conditions and high contrast without compromise, helping to tell a better and more immersive story. The XDR option is available through Grass Valleys perpetual GV-eLicense upgrade path for all LDX 86 Series cameras working in all single-speed formats, including all 3G and 4K formats, to deliver the best HD/3G or 4K viewing experience possible.
NewBay Medias Product Innovation Award, launched in 2013, recognizes excellence in manufacturing of products to serve the TV/pro video and radio/online audio industries. Winners are selected by a panel of professional users, and evaluation criteria include innovation of concept and design, creative use of technology, price value, and suitability for use in a broadcast TV/pro video or broadcast/online radio environment.
