TVU Networks manages IP Xmission for 24-hour Taiwan news network --

Television Broadcasts Satellite (TVBS), Taiwans 24-hour news network, is expanding their TVU Networks suite of IP-based live video broadcast solutions by deploying multiple units of TVU One, TVU s mobile transmitter and TVU Anywhere, TVU s smartphone-based application (app) which broadcasts live from a mobile device.
TVBS will expand their mobile newsgathering capabilities and breaking news coverage by deploying TVU One, which provides the same transmission resiliency, performance, video picture quality and sub-second latency of a full-size TVUPack backpack transmitter, but in a powerful and small form factor IP video transmitter. Additionally, reporters for TVBS will use TVU Anywhere, a smart device-based app that allows broadcasters to turn their personal smartphone into a high quality, low latency professional video transmitter to capture live news as it s happening, from virtually anywhere.
Bruce Lin, manager of Engineering at TVBS said, We were drawn to the TVU One because of its portability, incredible video picture quality provided by Inverse StatMux Plus and the ease with which the TVU One operates. We will continue to use TVUPack but will now have even greater agility when rushing to capture breaking news, as we ll be armed and ready with the super small and lightweight, TVU One, as well as all of the smartphones and devices equipped with the TVU Anywhere app. The TVU Anywhere app will be very useful for our New Media department, as it increases our ability to capture news from anywhere. We are confident that through our relationship with TVU Networks, we have the best mobile live transmission quality in the industry.
TVU Anywhere is designed to turn a portable smart device or laptop into a HD video transmitter. Using cellular wireless connection and WiFi when available, TVU Anywhere delivers HD video without the need for traditional hardware.
The TVU Networks suite of solutions has been used to deliver professional-quality live HD footage of a number of events around the world including both the Summer and Winter Olympic Games, the Super Bowl and several international sporting events.
