In addition to its previously announced exclusive US rights, Netflix has now secured the official broadcasting rights in Canada for the FIFA Women's World Cup in 2027 and 2031, the streamer announced on Friday. The Netflix-FIFA pact covers all languages and will include both English and Spanish telecasts. In Canada, deal rights include English and French language broadcasts.

This marks a historic first for the tournament on a streaming service in Canada and a major expansion of Netflix's growing live sports footprint. With exclusive rights across the US and Canada, Netflix is setting the stage for the FIFA Women's World Cup to reach more fans than ever before.

The 2027 tournament, which runs from June 24 to July 25, will feature 32 teams from across the globe, competing in eight cities throughout Brazil. The 2031 edition will be the first-ever 48-team edition of the tournament. And with this new Canada deal, fans across North America will experience the full tournament live on Netflix, included in all plans.

FIFA Chief Business Officer Romy Gai says the expanded partnership underscores a shared commitment to growing the women's game: Following the landmark agreement between FIFA and Netflix in the United States, we are pleased to extend the footprint of our partnership to Canada - a nation with a rich FIFA Women's World Cup history.

In addition to the matches, Netflix will deliver studio shows and top-tier talent. In the lead-up to the tournament, Netflix will also produce exclusive documentary programming spotlighting the top players, their journeys, and the explosion of the sport around the globe.

FIFA Women's World Cup joins Netflix's growing lineup of premium live sports, including the record-setting Katie Taylor vs. Amanda Serrano 3 boxing match - 2025's most-watched women's sports event - and last year's co-headliner with Jake Paul vs. Mike Tyson, which drew 108 million viewers globally. With NFL Christmas Day games, the upcoming Canelo vs. Crawford fight, and WWE Raw live weekly on Netflix, the service continues to redefine how live sports reach fans.
