The Hospital Club's h.Club 100 Awards, in partnership with the Creative Industries Council, launched this week with the opening of public nominations.
Now in its seventh year, the h.Club 100 is the Hospital Club's annual search for the most innovative, influential people working across the UK's creative industries. The awards comprise ten categories with ten winners in each: Advertising, Marketing & PR; Art & Design; Broadcast; Gaming; Fashion; Film; Music; Publishing & Writing; Theatre & Performance; and Rising Stars (under 25s). This year will also see the launch of two new awards: the h.Club Foundation's Charity Award, recognising charities and social enterprises that have supported youth employment and education projects across the creative industries; and the Creative Industries Council Award, for cross-industry collaboration.
The winners are selected by up to four industry judges per category, culminating in a shortlist of which the top nine names are award winners. The tenth winner in each category is selected by public vote. Judging the Broadcast category are Chris Curtis, editor of Broadcast; Theresa Wise, Royal Television Society; Stuart Murphy, Sky; and Dinah Caine, Creative Skillset.
The Hospital Club in the heart of London, offers members of the creative industries the environment and facilities it needs to Create, Connect and Collaborate'. As part of London's creative community, its role is to discover and host the best creative talent, and produce, publish and celebrate their work.
The Hospital Club Studio also features a TV production facility (which regularly hosts Watchdog (BBC), The Agenda (ITV) and The Mercury Prize Sessions, (C4) as well as clients including Disney, MTV and BBC Comedy.
The Creative Industries Council (CIC) is a joint forum between the creative industries and the UK government. Set up to be a voice for creative industries, the council focus on areas where there are barriers to growth facing the sector, such as access to finance, skills, export markets, regulation, intellectual property (IP) and infrastructure.
