Never.no is excited to announce Jaron Millner as our VP, APAC, heading the sales and operations for the Australia and Asia Pacific -region. His appointment comes at a time of global expansion for never.no as we begin to provide social television services to even more customers in the Asian and Australian markets.
Jaron has over 10 years' experience in production and interactive television services and formats. He began his career in interactive television at MTV Media in Finland before going on to build an interactive television business in the US, heading the Social Interaction Services department for Elisa, Finland's largest carrier, and most recently returning to MTV in Finland to head the consumer interaction businesses department.
During his career, Jaron has been responsible for viewer interaction for major productions such as Big Brother, Idol and Dancing With The Stars. Additionally, his department was responsible for analysis of consumer (viewer) behavior, purchase patterns and business optimization data.
Jaron's extensive background in building and producing social TV services (TV, online and mobile) and working on both the broadcaster and carrier side means he has a strong understanding of the process broadcasters go through in deciding which Social TV elements to use as well as the actual production of the shows.
I have sat in the control room, directed myself, and have sold the idea of social TV internally several times. Jaron Millner, VP, APAC never.no There has been a dramatic change over the past couple of years Social TV is nowadays seen as an established standard to communicate with viewers. We are also seeing some very sophisticated developments of implementing social TV components into TV ads something the market has been waiting for.
I remember using some of the first Social TV platforms that we, as a broadcaster, had developed ourselves. These were simple SMS-TV applications that enabled the display of text messages on screen. Taking the never.no platform into use simplified many processes, helped us gain access to social networks, and most of all provided a reliable platform to source data and render it on screen.
I was extremely excited when the opportunity arose to join the never.no team: being able to deliver the fantastic framework to new customers in the APAC region, to share and provide the success of Social TV concepts, and to work with a team of talented people who had years of experience in the Social TV scene. I have been working with Social TV for most of my working life, and can't wait to see what fantastic content our customers will develop using the never.no framework I am sure this will be a very exciting time for Social TV, and for me personally.
I can see we are on the brink of the Social TV era; it will be the future standard of television.
One of the main reasons I wanted to join the never.no team was that I believe never.no has the potential to become the industry standard in social television: a framework that will scale, provide flexibility and new features to enable broadcasters to build social elements and interaction with their viewers. Broadcasters deserve the freedom to concentrate on what they are good at: creating compelling content and building phenomena. I believe that never.no has the tools to allow broadcasters to build the social interaction between the content and the viewers while empowering broadcasters to focus on their core competencies.
Never.no's VP of EMEA Scott Davies stated:
It's great to have Jaron join the team at never.no, not only does he come with a wealth of hands on experience from a broadcaster's point of view, giving him a unique insight into interaction within programming, he also comes from being on the customer side.
So it's good to know he sees us as a growing and successful technology partner in the industry. He's a perfect fit for the team and should be a real asset helping to grow the APAC region.
(L-R): Scott Davies VP EMEA, Lars Lauritzsen CEO, Jaron Millner VP APAC, Kelly Moulton VP North America
