Swede soars to 6.18m mark at World Athletics Indoor Tour in Scotland.

Armand Duplantis broke his own pole vault world record again on Saturday 088 February for the second time in a week at a World Athletics Indoor Tour meeting in Scotland. Here is all you need to know:

- The USA-born Swede shocked the field to become 2018 European champion in Berlin, then followed up with a silver medal behind American Sam Kendricks at the 2019 World Championships in Doha.

- Frenchman Renaud Lavillenie, the 2012 Olympic champion, cleared 6.16m in February 2014, however Duplantis nearly broke the record originally when he just brushed the bar with his arm in Dusseldorf at the World Athletics Indoor Tour meet on February 4.

- Duplantis, who goes by the nickname Mondo, jumped largely solo at the next meet in Poland on February 8 as none of the other competitors could go higher than 5.52m and he broke the record with a 6.17m effort.

- Moving on to the next meeting in Glasgow on February 15, Duplantis got the crowd on their feet by easily clearing 6.18m to increase his world record by 1cm.

- Duplantis, who was handed a world record bonus cheque for $30,000, explained: This was such a great competition. There was such great energy the crowd was giving me and I really thrive off that.

- The 20-year-old is coached by his American father Greg, who was also a pole vaulter, while his Swedish mother Helena is a former heptathlete and volleyballer.

- Last week, Louisiana native Duplantis revealed in Torun: Its something that I wanted since I was three years old. Its a big year, but its a good way to start it.
