In the first year that albert has awarded the badges, five studios were awarded with the rating of Very Good', the highest grade in this cohort.

TBY2, Maidstone Studios, BBC Studioworks' Television Centre and Warner Bros Studios Leavesden are among the first 12 UK-based studio facilities to have been awarded Studio Sustainability Standard badges by albert in recognition of their commitment to sustainability.

In the first year that albert has awarded the badges, five studios were awarded with the rating of Very Good', the highest grade in this cohort.

TBY2's solar array The Standard recognises the significant role that studios have to play in the industry's transition to a zero carbon, zero waste industry.

The Studio Sustainability Standard is a voluntary sustainability framework, which helps studios to measure and improve their environmental impacts. Through participating, studios are assessed on and offered bespoke improvement plans for six high-impact areas: Climate, Circularity, Nature, People, Management and Data, said albert.

The aim of the standard is to create a more sustainable and responsible film and TV industry and to create global benchmarking criteria for studios to improve against.

Carys Taylor, director of BAFTA albert, said The expertise and quality of UK studios make them among the most in-demand in the world. Now, as participants in the albert Studio Sustainability Standard, they're on a path to being the most sustainable in the world too. The release of the new Studio Sustainability Standard ratings badges will allow studios to show off the progress they've already made and benchmark the progress yet to come. And productions will know where to go to get support for their own sustainability missions.
