Enter the dangerous and secretive world of the elite covert special ops forces in the new series of Black Ops; where highly-trained units are designed to carry out high-risk military operations to terminate the world's most wanted men, eliminate terrorists, and ultimately protect innocent people's lives. These operations are hazardous and when they go wrong result in mass casualties and profound political consequences.

This six-part series investigates the special-forces operations at the battle against the Taj Palace terrorists in Mumbai, the hunt for Abdul Musab Al-Zarqawi, the killing of Bin Laden, the SAS raid in Sierra Leone, the Moscow theatre siege, and the Lufthansa hostage rescue in Mogadishu are all included in the series.

Abu Musab Al-Zarqawi was responsible for a host of bombings, beheadings and attacks which murdered thousands of innocent people. He led Al-Qaeda in Iraqi making him one of America's most wanted men. In April 2006 a group of elite soldiers from a secretive unit, code-named Task Force Black', was set-up with one mission - take-out Abu Musab. They captured several of Abu Musab's loyal men and subjected them to psychological pressure by rounds of interrogators, but none of them were willing to give-up any information. Matthew Alexander, a senior military interrogator, tried a new method of befriending these men and gets the one piece of information needed for the downfall of Abu Musab.

In August 2000 a drug-crazed murderous War-Lord took a unit of the British Army hostage deep in the jungles of Sierra Leone. He was the leader of the notorious rebel gang, the West Side Boys', who are known for their wild and unpredictable behaviour. The British government needed to act fast in order to save their men, so an elite Special Forces group were mobilized with a daring and dangerous plan drawn-up. They were out-numbered five-to-one, their enemy was heavily armed, and held the belief Black Magic would ensure there were victorious. This mission was so dangerous it was named Operation Certain Death'.

In 2008 Mumbai, India was shaken by a series of coordinated brutal terrorist attacks with the intention of turning the city into an orgy of death and destruction. Several landmarks were hit whilst bombs blasted across the city, including the iconic 5-star Taj Mahal Palace Hotel. The bloodthirsty killers brought a buzzing metropolis to a grinding halt and confusion reigned as the police were no match to the heavily armed terrorists. Only India's National Security Guard, nicknamed the Black Cats', could stop the chaos and bring the madness to a halt.

Other episodes cover Operation Neptune Spear'; the story of sophisticated intelligence, complicated decision making and painstaking specials ops planning that led to the killing of Al Qaeda's leader and the mastermind of the 9/11 attacks. Another episode focuses on Russia's elite force, Spetnaz Group Alfa, who faced the impossible task of rescuing 800 people held hostage by Chechen gunmen and suicide bombers inside a Moscow theatre.
