Grass Valley Addresses Content Production and Delivery Trends at ABE Show in Sydney

MONTREAL, August 3, 2016 At ABE 2016 in Sydney, August 9-11, executives from Grass Valley, a Belden Brand, will present information to help broadcasters and content owners leverage content while improving workflow efficiency and growing their businesses. In the conference sessions at ABE, Klaus Weber, senior product marketing manager, cameras, will present on the topic of high-bandwidth IP networks changing the landscape of live production with Grass Valleys Direct IP camera solutions. Mark Hilton, vice president of infrastructure, will present on the topic of the move to IP and Grass Valleys Broadcast Data Center concept.

The ways that people consume content today are changing quickly, so our solutions are designed to take advantage of the many new opportunities created by this change, said Andrew Thornton, vice president of sales, Asia Pacific, Grass Valley. Our team will be at ABE to share their insights on the role of content and the impact of new technology, talking one-on-one with attendees about their specific business situations.

At the show, visitors will learn more about the GV Node Real Time IP Processing and Edge Routing Platform, a foundational component of the companys Broadcast Data Center model. GV Node provides the bridge between the broadcast and IP worlds by delivering critical functions required by the broadcaster but not available in traditional IP solutions. Visitors also will learn about the LDX 86 Series cameras with a direct IP interface, enabling live remote productions over IP networks by connecting LDX 80 Series, LDX 86 Series, and LDX 86N Series cameras directly to commercial-off-the-shelf (COTS) switches on an IP network, transporting the full camera protocol through an IP network to the XCU base stations connected to another COTS switch on the same IP network. The LDX 86 Series cameras with Xensium-FT CMOS imagers also deliver the visual quality of better pixels and an outstanding dynamic range of 15 f-stops with their HDR capability.

Also being discussed at ABE will be the iTX Integrated Playout Platform, which enables broadcasters and service providers, large and small, to reliably deliver their valuable content across global platforms. iTX combines automation, master control, branding, graphics, captioning and subtitling in a modular, software-based environment over IP or SDI. iTX has a proven track record, delivering more than 17.5 million hours of broadcast television every year.
