US controller and interface manufacturer JLCooper introduced its latest products and updates at NAB in Las Vegas recently with the prime focus being on the ion, a compact broadcast switch controller for Blackmagic Design ATEM users. With a significantly smaller footprint than Proton, its sister ATEM controller, ion offers fast video switching for live events.
It may be rack mounted or sat on a desk and is compatible with ATEM 1 and 2 M/E Production Switcher, 1 and 2 M/E Production Studio 4K and ATEM Television Studio.
MCS6 is a welcome addition to the range and a replacement for the widely adopted MCS3 workstation controller. With the same jog/shuttle and transport and editing function buttons as the MCS3, MCS6 USB is available for Mac users or the MSC6 RS422/9-Pin version for VTR control.
Introduced at BVE and now shipping is the MADI.9648 sample rate converter from DirectOut. Designed to enable simple integration of external equipment with the latest live consoles operating at 96 kHz sampling rate, MADI.9648 is equipped with eight MADI ports and offers low latency, bi-directional conversion between two 32ch 88.2/96 kHz connections and one 64ch 44.1/48 kHz connection.
New to the DirectOut ANDIAMO and ANDIAMO 2 series is a 4-way mix-bus that can be used for a multitude of applications such as creating clean feeds, monitor mixes, mixed comms feeds etc. The mix-bus facility is enabled by installing firmware version 6.4 or above and is controlled by ANDIAMO Remote v3.1 for Windows or v0.78 for OSX.
